Awarded the 4 Star VisitBritain Quality Rating for self catering accommodation, Red Lodge Barn is a 19th Century Suffolk brick barn, recently converted to create a spacious self-contained 2-bedroom holiday cottage adjacent to the main house. It stands in an acre of grounds overlooking Middleton Moor.
The location is ideal for the picturesque seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold, Dunwich, Walberswick, Snape Maltings and the RSPB bird reserve at Minsmere as well as inland Framlingham, Laxfield, Halesworth and Saxmundham.
This 4 star rated cottage offers spacious accommodation for 4 people and is newly equipped and furnished to a high standard, with all the amenities and comforts to be found at home. A sofabed in the lounge sleeps a further 2 people. The accommodation comprises:
- Central heating – wood burning stove – bathroom with separate shower unit and bath
- One spacious double bedroom
- One twin-bedded room with superb views over the pond
- Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher
- Sofabed in the lounge – wood-burning stove
- Colour TV – video recorder/player – DVD player – radio/cassette/CD hi-fi.
- All bed linen and bathroom towels are included.
- There is good parking available adjacent to the cottage.

Nearby there is a freshwater pond frequented by a barn owl and occasionally a kingfisher as well as numerous other birds.

Please note there are unfenced ponds in the grounds, so the
property
is not suitable for toddlers and very young children.
Situated just 1 mile from the A12 and the pretty village of Yoxford with its useful general store and post office, and a similar distance from two friendly local pubs, the cottage is just 5 miles from Suffolk Heritage Coast and 3 miles from Minsmere the flagship RSPB reserve.
The area is wonderful to visit at any time of year, and the barn is always cosy with its full central heating and a wood-burning stove, for which logs are provided. Here's a view of Middleton Moor in winter:

Red Lodge Barn may be booked along with our property called Highsteppers; our nearby home in a Georgian Grade II listed building named "Blythview", which can accommodate a further four people. It boasts a swimming pool and garden and views over the spectacular Blyth Valley.
